I would use the IDE as boot drive for 10. The 2940 card is very finicky under 10. I say this from experience, and is a big reason why I threw out the IBMs. But, yes, 10 runs fine on your machine. Thro out the 9gb and get inexpenxive IDE as slave to the one you have.
