Unstable?
just a short note about a very
uneventful and smooth update from 10.1.5 to 10.2 on my B&WG3/400/640mb.

Stuck the cd in the drive, selected it as startup disk, restarted, and
away it went. About the only thing I had to do was agree with the
license. I did unselect some of the languages I will never need or use.
After both CDs, it rebooted by itself, and was up and running, except
for Monitor settings, just as before. Everything works. It boots about
twice as fast.
What can I say? The installation of 10.0 was the same,
even on the supposedly challenged original iMac233 with only 96 mb.
Somehow, I have the feeling that people having trouble with X are the
same ones that think they must "taylor" it like they did oldworld, and
start by moving stuff around and throwing stuff out and adding
"utilities." While this is possible, it is best not done unless one
REALLY knows his unix. I don't. But I didn't fool around with it,
either.
Anyhow, Jaguar is up and running with NO hitches at all.
Been running all day, no snags, no unstability. Toasted a CD while
surfing and listening to mp3s from the net, and printing to networked
laser printer. Slowed down of course, but didn't hickup or spit.
Downloaded and installed all the necessary updates and also RagTime
beta for Jag, all at the same time while finishing a contract bid in
the WP. No hickups, no spitting.

What am I doing wrong?
