Further to this, have just erased HD & installed 9.1, still no sound but System Profiler now states attributes to be "whisper"
Attempting to use sound control panel (for sound output) states "in use by another program".... There's only 9.1 on there, and no apps..... No Sound. System Profiler reports "Unknown personality card" instead of "Sound Card" Have zapped PRAM the usual 10 times:- no change. I believe pressing the CUDA button will reset the MoBo to factory configuration - is there anything special about this process?
