It might be a dead card....
One thing that I have done in the past with this sort of
problem is to remove the card and all ram, rom and pci cards, battery
etc....even the chip.... Leave it alone with everything disconnected
for around 24 hours, I prefer 48 hours or so..... Plug it all back
in.... Has worked for me over 6 times...
Might even be that the card needs to be re installed to be
sure it is seated in ok. Make sure it has that 2nd screw installed
on the back panel.
I had just helped a friends upgrade his G3 with more ram,
faster chip and 4mb Vram..... Apparently I didn't seat the card down
all the way....The computer would work, however, no sound, no modem,
no printing available and nothing showed up in the system profiler....
Reseated, all fixed.
