Yes it is, playing older games on a Mac with a backup CD is possible,
newer games require the original CD I think. Just insert the CD, open
your Toast, select Disk Copy, select the CD and when it asks for a
writable CD insert it. Another way is dragging the Mac CD into the Toast
window and the format will change to Mac Volume, then from the File menu
select 'Save as Disc Image'. The CD will be imaged onto your HD. When
it's done just double click the Toast image and write it to CD. This is
handy and faster when you want to burn several CDs. Since this games are
a bit older, you can also probably play them by just mounting the image
from Toast so that the game thinks there's a CD mounted. BTW Since
you've got the original CD and you're only making a backup there's
you're doing nothing illegal.

There are some simple things you can use to make your Mac more secure,
there was an app in the past which you could use to set this up, AtEase,
but it doesn't work anymore with the latest OSes. Things I can think of
is password protecting folders, or hiding folders with ResEdit for
example, and you could enable the Easy Finder option in the Finder
prefs. And can't you set things up with Keychain passwords? I also
remember a control panel, Keys off I believe, which you could use to
setup a password, and with which you could restrict to only open a few
apps. It stores it's password in the System file, so even booting w/o
extensions needs a password. My advice if you'r going to give it a try,
make a backup of the System suitcase first, and if you trash this
control panel w/o replacing the System, make sure you turn it off first
before trashing it, I've been there...
Sorry, that's all I can think of right know. Perhaps others have some
better ideas?
