There is not much support for legacy devices under OS X. If you want your printer to work you will need to buy something like Asante's Localtalk to Ethernet Adapter. This is the reason why your wife can't print to your Machine when your running OS X. If you want classic to print you have to have it on the same protocol as OS X. Since OS X doesn't support Localtalk you will not be able print from Classic. What version of Toast are you running. Try running version 5.14 or 5.2. Any early versions will probably not work under OS X. Your scanner will probably only work if the manufacture makes an OS X Driver. If they do, then your in luck. If so driver exists, then see about getting a new scanner. I think your best bet is only run OS X when you need to use iDVD. Otherwise you boot back into OS 9 and leave it there. This way you can continue to use your legacy devices.
