There is also another fly in the ointment regarding firewire and 
Yosemite/Blue-and-white G3s. This was the first pro Mac with Firewire, and 
the chipset used for it on this machine is known for being flaky. A good idea 
is to get a firewire card and use those ports instead. Other World Computing 
has a MacAlly card for $20.
