Melinda,

First thing, if your company has Windows NT Servers or Windows 2000
Servers, see if you can get the local Admin to set up the AppleTalk
protocol on the Windows Servers. If they agree then you can go to
microsoft.com/mac and download and install the Microsoft UAM which will
allow to use your Mac with no additional software to connect to your
Windows Servers. If your local admin will not install the AppleTalk
Protocol on the Windows Servers then you will have to go to plan B. See
if you can purchase a copy of Dave. Dave is great program will allow to
connect to a Windows Server. It actually installs the Windows
Networking protocol right on your mac. That's the best way to describe
it. If they are unwilling to purchase this program, then maybe you will
have to bite the bullet and buy it yourself. You can also upgrade to OS
10.2. OS X has built in Windows support, which allow you to connect to
a Windows Network.

If they are unwilling to buy you a copy of OS X or Dave and you can not
afford to purchase them. See if there is any cheap shareware
alternative at versiontracker.com.

Regards,

Aaron W.
