RE; story of my life,,also try removeing one at a time any PCI cards,and
reset cuda switch with each test. in my case its a conflict of drivers for a
second ATI video card, trouble makernumber one, and a farallon ethernet
card, trouble maker number two,,my machine runs fine without these two
cards,and is miserable with them,but I need them to use, I hope your luck is
better. also the option key starts with extensions off,option command shift
is startup drive selection,and of course C key boots from CD. and last your
hardrive may have died,, but try the cheap easy stuff first,,best wishes
