After I installed X on my machine (g3 rev b rom, 224 ram, 17gig HD
partitioned) It restarted and after a few seconds gray static, distortion
type lines show up. Zapping the pram only makes the disk unbootable and I
have to go back and re-install os 9 just to recover.
My friend and apple tech told me that it always took him 5 consecutive
installs to get Jag to work on a beige Mac. Is that true? Should I also
heard that Mac would alleviate my Jag woes.
Then there is the after effects of the install. Everey reboot comes up
in verbose mode. White screen repeating the words Can't Open until it finds
a bootable HFS partition. What is it trying to open? How can I get that to
go away? Is that another thing that would be making it difficult to install
Jag?
Any answers would help.
