Hi, It's an older 1.6 Gig WD. Spins up on cold start, is recognized by any number of Apple's Drive Set Up, incl HDT 3.0. But after the drive fails all choices (zeroing, low level format, etc.), it is not recognized again. It shouldn't be dead. I reset PRAM, CUDA, etc. Even OSX Disk Utility doesn't see the drive after failing to initialze. LIDO, anyone? But LIDO is for SCSI, right? Cheers George
