Hi all,

I'm new to the list, though having gotten stuck in grad school, I've been a
low end Mac aficionado for a while. I recently scavenged a beige G3 that
has no hard drive, but does have cd, zip and floppy drives apparently
intact. I have a 4 gig Quantum SCSI drive and the internal cable connector,
and I see that there is an apparently suitable 50-pin SCSI socket in the
G3. I know that these G3s originally came with IDE drives. Can I just plug
my SCSI drive in, install a system from a cd, and go? Is there anything
else I need to do?

thanks from an impecunious student,

George
