I've been told by someone I trust that that Lite-ON model is indeed bootable. However this was in a Beige G3; in my upgraded 7600 it is not. However that might be a difference between the motherboards and original CD connection(SCSI in mine, IDE in the BG3). I'll know better this weekend, as I'm upgrading the ol' 7600 workhorse to a slightly younger (Beige G3) workhorse. I do know it is fully supported by OSX for CD burning, and is quite fast. Complaint's about the 'OWC Lite-Ons' in the database, in absence of complaints from other brands containing the same mechanism, should be taken with a grain of salt; the EEPROM rev code in most of them is the same, (VS04 in the 48-12-48 models). Mine is the same drive, marketed by Cendyne; they're also sold under a number of other brand names. Mine was $39 after rebates at Office Max, recently I believe they had the same one for an unbelievable $19 after rebates...:-0 -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
