I went from a 9600 / G3-450 (g3chip also cut the bus speed down from 50 to 45-)
to a B&W G3/400 (later overclocked it to 450) the bottom line is that the 100%+ increase in bus speed is totally worth the effort...assuming also at a good price =) I later upgraded the chip to a G4/450 and didnt see that much of an increase in speed. I now have a G4/DP500 and again not much of a speed increase from my B&W G4/450 (though Im still using my Radeon PCI(faster than the stock 16mbAGP)), and I dont run Jag (9.2.2). since you are running Jag, a larger increase will come for you if/when you upgrade the chip to a G4, than it did for me.... also since you are running Jag your best move/1st is to get more ram in there. the next real increase will come if/when I go to the 133mhz motherboard of a Digital Audio or QS. on 12/7/02 9:28 AM, Leon Sargent at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > I just traded up from my Franken Mac 7300 to a B&W G3 and I am trying to > tell myself that this will be about the same or better than I current have > as a GUI and system responsiveness on my 7300.
