I went from a 9600 / G3-450 (g3chip also cut the bus speed down from 50 to
45-)  

to a B&W G3/400   (later overclocked it to 450)

the bottom line is that the 100%+ increase in bus speed is totally worth the
effort...assuming also at a good price =)

I later upgraded the chip to a G4/450  and didnt see that much of an
increase in speed.

I now have a G4/DP500  and again  not much of a speed increase from my B&W
G4/450 (though Im still using my Radeon PCI(faster than the stock 16mbAGP)),
and I dont run Jag (9.2.2).

since you are running Jag, a larger increase will come for you if/when you
upgrade the chip to a G4, than it did for me.... also since you are running
Jag   your best move/1st is to get more ram in there.

the next real increase will come  if/when I go to the 133mhz motherboard of
a Digital Audio or QS.
