I don't think so. I've been using a single 21" monitor connected to my Radeon 7000 card on my G3 beige Rev. A ROM
It is my only monitor and it boots OK running 9.2.2 or 10.1.5 and even more recently 10.2.3 I don't know what the problem is with your machine but it is not the ROM of the G3. Have you updated the firmware of your Radeon? Have you installed the most recent driver from ATI ? Go on their site www.ati.com That might do it !
