I believe Apple System Profiler will show that...otherwise it's a matter of opening it up, and hoping they didn't stick a sticker over the real manufacturer. That said I doubt that you can make it work if it's not supported. More devices are added with iTunes upgrades, but the latest (iTunes 3) is OS X only.
