My understanding is that its the same  for all G3 power macs OS 8x to  
OS X

1. The no problem scenario

Open Disk Utility

On the left hand side of the displayed panel, a list of all  OS 
recognized volumes and its partitions will be displayed

Highlight your drive and/or individual partition on that drive

in the Finder,click on the  Options  and  select  Mount in the pull 
down menue

2.The  Problem scenario

Open disc Utility

Your hard drive does not appear on the display panel

Drive has gone to the graveyard in the sky or ?
