I had problems going from 9.0.4 to 9.1 on my beige DT. One of the things lost was the software package for my scanner. Fortunately the TWAIN part of it still worked. It did not function in the partition I upgraded to 9.2. If you are only running 9 there is no earthly reason I know of to upgrade past 9.0.4, the last bug fix. After that the upgrades just made it run better as classic inside OS X. You do not gain anything in 9.1 or 9.2 except maybe to be able to run Appleworks 6. No speed or stability improvements.
