In my experience with a beige G3 DT 300mhz with 512 RAM, OS 9.1 has been much more stable than 8.5, but I didn't go through the intermediate stage of 8.6 to know. I haven't gone more recent than 9.1, so have no experience with that area. When I go to a G4 processor I plan to try 10.2, hopefully with good results. Best of Luck Don
