Re; hard drives seem to be more about model than brand,an example is western digital, long known as poor,recently according to at least one list member to have a very good line of high end 7200 rpm with a large buffer,Ibm was very good until the deskstar 75 gig,and recently many hardrive makers have changed owners, for now its mostly guessing, or ask here for opinions before purchaseing,Ive learned if something is crap or trouble someone here will mention it.I have often not wasted money,and saved much aggrivation by just asking. hope this helps best wishes > > Hi, y'all, > > We are putting together the tech requisition for next school year, and > in discussing hard drives, the question came up about 5400 speed vs 7200 > speed.
