well, since i've had similar problems i thought i share a procedure
that works with the current layout of apples site (i really prefered it
when they had more things available directly by ftp, but oh well.)
go to apple.com, click on the software tab, on the right at the bottom
of the box marked "downloads", click on "more downloads", go to the
bottom, in the search box enter the name of the specific software you
want and search, it should lead you right to it. qed. i prefer to do
it this way as i really don't like automatic update, because sometimes
i need the old versions or the new ones have bugs and because i have a
terribly slow internet connection and want to be highly selective of
what i tie up the line with. of course this is also the easiest way to
find older versions of updates/software.
