Actually, the Belkin contains not obvious warning to not connect this
device. Rather they caution against connecting equipment that the individual
eqpt. manufacturer advises not to connect to a UPS. The warnings are buried
in the connected eqpt warranty and the basic instructions are poor. The
device should never have jolted my computer, though!

Funny too that the regular surge protection outlets continued to work, just
not the battery backup side.

Belkin can't hold a candle to my Best Power Micro-Ferrups unit I have for my
main biz computer. That's a thoroughbred!

My mistake to buy into the good deal (50% off for MacWorld special).
