Hey Dean,
I have a Beige G3 500MHz 768MB MiniTower which I upgraded from a 266MHz Rev
A motherboard and installed the Rev B ROM-DIMM (which you probably have in
you 300) and added both the 6MB VRAM to the extra V-Memory Slot and an
slipped an ATI Mac Edition 32MB PCI Video Card in one of my empty PCI slots.

I bought a discontinued (but new in the box) Quantex (Hitachi) 19" monitor
and an adapter plug ($10 - $15 on eBay) to be able to connect the Q-Hitachi
up to the MT and the 19"er works wonderfully! Actually, I really can't tell
the difference between connecting the monitor to the ATI Card or the
upgraded (Memory) onboard chipset. But then again, I don't do any real
heavy duty video / graphics work so in your case if you are doing some real
memory intensive video/graphics an ATI Radeon 7000 Card would out perform
the onboard Apple/ATI (6MB) RAGE PRO 2D/3D chipset hands down. And keep in
mind I'm running an original Rev A motherboard and you probably have the Rev
B or C with better onboard Video chipset.

I don't believe you will have any problems with the "Free" ViewSonic PF790
19 inch monitor. If he has any more to give away I'd love to get on for a
spare or to link up two 19"ers to my Mac!!!

Good luck & hope this helps.

Regards,
