Hi, I have a G3 300 with 512 MB RAM also running OS 9.1 with VM on at whatever the default setting and seems to run rather fast for me. I do run Disk Warrior, and TechTool Pro with optimization once or twice per week or it seems to slow down some. If you haven't checked this page, plus it's Links you might want too.
