Aloha
I had a lot of problems with the firewire drives on my Beiger G3 with
a added pci firewire / usb card.
I found that using intech drivers and then slowing down the transfer
speed solved all the problems.
I was told that apparently there are timing issues.

Then I played around with the drives, drivers and what to set them
at.... cable select seems to work for me in 9 and 10.... just fine.

I have transferred files over 4 GB and a couple times 8+ GB and it
worked just fine.
