I suppose now one could run "joe", a Unix work-alike of Wordstar on OSX. Slightly more user-friendly than vi. And more on topic, the very first time I used a Mac, a 1st generation one, no hard disk, I inserted the system floppy (which I had borrowed). A prompt came up "Initialise disk?" Since this seemed to mean "begin", I clicked to go ahead, and of course the disk was reformatted. More disturbingly, on my Beige, about 1 time in 10 boots the IDE disk fails to be recognised, and the same message comes up, so I am very careful how I respond -- the default is to reformat. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
