Well, I've never had my month-old (in my care) G3 DT set to sleep before, just monitor sleep, & hearing about this problem with the slowdown I thought I'd try & replicate it...even if I can't shed light on it for the original poster, I thought I might be able to see if I have one of the ones that is afflicted with the slowdown.
So I set it for total sleep, & behold! I can't wake it up when it does it! I have to 3-finger salute... Apple knowlegebase seems to suggest that this has something to do with the CD drive. See: <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=24714> I downloaded the updater: <http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/E nglish-North_American/Macintosh/System/CPU_Specific_Updates/Power_Mac_G3/G3 _CD_Update_2.0.smi.bin> & I will see what it does for me. -- Over, Jutso http://pages.ripco.net/~jutso/ -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
