This fact ... apparently ... cannot be repeated often enough.

If you have a Beige, the SDRAM stick *must* have 16 chips, if it incorporates 
high-density memory.

Otherwise, the stick will be read as if it was 1/2 the size it really is.

OTOH, a PeeCee will correctly read the stick at the stated capacity.
