Yes, I tried it at one time. It worked, but I  had a little instability 
that led me to  remove the 2nd drive. I was also  concerned  about  the 
things I read suggesting I  might  get data loss in transfers between 
drives. I recall finding a utility that would test data transfer 
between  drives to see if the data loss problem was present,  but I 
never tried it.
Also, it was a real  chore physically getting the 2nd drive connected.
