Hello, I was contacted offlist about the article I read and it was rightfully pointed out to me that it is good sharing information. This is a partial copy of the email I responded to earlier: It was a short reference in (April 2003) MacAddict magazine that made it look rather simple. I know some people don't like that mag too much, but I do. There is some fluff, but there are alot of helpful articles and it is a nice change of pace from some of the other straight-and-to-the-point mags. Besides, it is the only one that I've seen lately that actually prints those kinds of tutorials. (not to metion the utilities on the disc that come with it.)
There is a large article that skims the upgrade process for a bunch of machines and I have found it useful. Basically, open the box, unclip the drive covers from the inside, unscrew the housing, pull out the housing enough to reach behind and unplug the cables, remove the housing, unscrew and switch the drives, then reattach by reversing the removal process.
