ATI 3D Accelerator
ATI Driver-update
ATI Graphics Accelerator
ATI MPP Manager
ATI Radeon 3D Accelerator
ATI Rage 128 3D Accelerator
ATI Resource Manager
ATI Video Accelerator

If you have this list of extensions Tina posted you can disable the ATI
Radeon 3D Accelerator and ATI Rage 128 3D Accelerator since you only
need this if you have an ATI Radeon (PCI retail card) or Rage 128 ( PCI
card from B&W G3 and B&W G4 Yikes) installed.

FYI here's an explanation of all the ATI extensions, note: you won't
have them all installed, because some of these extensions belong to
retail versions of ATI cards.
Here's the list:

ATI Graphics Accelerator
This component is responsible for all 2D acceleration. It supports ALL
ATI chips (this includes the old Xclaim GA based on the mach64).

ATI Resource Manager
This component manages all the resources of the other components. Almost
all other components are tied to this. If the ATI Resource Manager is
removed, you will have no 2D, 3D, or video acceleration. You will also
not be able to capture video if you have an Xclaim VR product.

ATI RADEON 3D Accelerator
This is the 3D accelerator for the RADEON cards.

ATI 8500 3D Accelerator
This is the 3D accelerator for the RADEON 8500 cards.

ATI Rage128 3D Accelerator
This is the 3D accelerator for the Rage128 cards and chips (this
includes iMacs, and PowerBooks).

ATI 3D Accelerator
This is the 3D accelerator for Rage II, and Rage Pro based cards/chips.

ATI Video Digitizer
This is responsible for controlling the video capture abilities of the
Xclaim VR cards. This has been included in the RADEON releases because
it was found that if a user had a RADEON card and an Xclaim VR (with
older software), and tried to use the ATI Video Digiziter (e.g. capture
video, or use the XVP, or Desktop Video), the system would hang. An
updated ATI Video Digitizer was included to correct this problem.

ATI Video Accelerator
This allows QuickTime video playback acceleration.

ATI MPP Manger
This assists in the usage of TV-OUT on the Beige G3 systems in
conjunction with H/W DVD playback on these systems. It is also used on
the B&W G3 systems for use with H/W DVD playback.

ATI ROM Xtender
Instead of providing a flash ROM to users, ATI provides the ATI ROM
Xtender. It is an extension that basically loads and replaces the ROM on
the card with a newer version if needed. For example, the ROM for the
Rage Orion card has had subsequent updates and these updates have been
placed into the ATI ROM Xtender. Features have been added, and
corrections have been added. The ATI ROM Xtender contains various
replacement ROMs for the Rage Orion, Nexus 128, RADEON PCI, and other
retail cards. The ATI ROM Xtender will check what retail ATI cards you
have on the system, and if it contains a newer version of the ROM than
what is on your card, it will replace it with the one that is contained
with the ATI ROM Xtender. If the ROM on your card is newer, or is the
same, replacement will not occur. It is important to note that when I
refer to replacement, I do not mean that it will flash your card to the
latest ROM. It just replaces upon startup as long as the ATI ROM Xtender
is in the Extensions folder.

ATI Driver Update
This is the OEM equivalent of the ATI ROM Xtender. It contains added
features and fixes for the Apple projects that ATI has worked on. If you
are not using the onboard video controller (or card) that came with your
Apple system oyu don't really need this component, however, it doesn't
cause problems if you keep it in your Extensions folder.

ATI Mac2TV Monitor
This is used for accessing TV-OUT if you have such a feature on your card.

ATI Mac2TV Startup
This is actually for anything older than Rage128. It is used to enable
TV-Out. [This should not be needed for any card that does not have Video
out.]

ATI Extension
This is needed for the ATI Displays Control Panel. It also controls the
ATI Config Menu that can be found in the menu bar (ATI icon).

ATI Displays Control Panel
This is where you can print the problem report, access the Mac2TV
features, and check 3D memory usage. [Only works with RETAIL ATI cards]

ATI Xclaim Video Player
This is the application used to watch TV, or capture video from the
Xclaim VR.

ATI Desktop Control Strip
This is the control strip module that allows you to access the Desktop
Video feature for the Xclaim VR.

ATI Desktop Extension
This is the Extension needed for the Desktop Video Control Strip module
to function correctly.

ATI Off Screen Memory Manager
This component is responsible for providing offscreen GWorld support.
Very few applications use this component, so it is not necessary (unless
of course you are using an application that requires this support). It
is currently not compatible with the RADEON card.
