Hello,

I have just bought an Apple G4 (Sawtooth) system. It has 512MB of RAM on 2
256MB modules. Being new at G4 Macs (moving up from an 8500/120), I have
some questions regarding this machine, for memory, video, and storage. Sorry
for asking too many questions, and the length of this:

1. The memory modules are probably PC100. PC100 comes in two types, CAS2 and
CAS3.
a Is there a problem mixing them?
b. Is there a way of identifying them, either by software, or by looking at
the modules physically
c. Is it possible to use PC133 RAM modules (which are cheaper than PC100
modules, locally)? Will this create instability issues id mixed with PC100?

2. Machine has a 10GB Hard drive, and a DVD.
a. How big a hard drive can I add? Do I need a formatting program (i.e. FWB
Hard Disk Toolkit, Silverlining) like I would for SCSI hard drives?
b. Are standard CD burners usable? Is there any third party burner that
works with the apple drivers (for both MacOS 9.2.X and OS 10.2.X)?3.

3. Current video card is an AGP Rage 128
a. I'm going to be driving a standard Mac display, or perhaps a VGA type
display. Is this possible with the current generation Radeon cards (7000,
8500, 9000)?
b. Aside from standard speed differences, is there any reason to buy
anything more expensive than a Radeon 7000? I will be playing some 3D games,
but not first person shooters (Quake, Doom, etc.).

Intent is get the machine onto OS 10.2.x, running Quartz Extreme, it is
currently running 9.2.1.
