Hi,

OK, I have a small problems, and even though I've
acted in the past like I know a thing or two, in this
case I'm totally at a loss.

Basically, I need a Freecell clone. A good one.

History:

I have a wife and five kids who use the family
computers quite a lot. After our zillionth rebuild
of WindowsWE (aka Windows WhatEver...),
I said: hey, what if I switched the family to
iMacs and such, and then they could know the
joy of Macintosh that I have known all these
years. I could stop spending my life running
AdAware and surgically removing Bonzi
Buddy and start enjoying things again.

Well, for the kids, it's been a big success. They
all have iMacs or 5400s, and they're running all
kinds of software, all on (and this is important)
OS 8.6 and OS 9.x.

Problem:

I gave one member of the family a Grape iMac
in great shape, and put all kinds of neat software
on it.

What I failed to realize was not only that she
was a Freecell addict, but that she was
dedicated to the aesthetic purity of the original
version under Windows.

I got the demo of the shareware version (Super
Mac Freecell, I think) and she is deeply
unimpressed. Changeable backgrounds and
sound effects do nothing for her. She wants
to play Freecell on the original, period.

Possible solutions:

Well, there's Virtual PC, which I use quite a
lot. I could use that, or Bochs, or some such
thing and boot into Windows to use Freecell.
This is sort of an admission that the Mac
can't do the job.

I could write a Freecell clone in REALbasic,
and pay meticulous attention to detail.

I could continue to search the web for someone
who has solved this problem.

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance for your advice and
sympathy. :-)

Best wishes,

-greg
