Hi, Do you want to dial up the church or connect over the internet?
Does the church have: 1. A VPN? 2. A fixed IP address or domain name? 3. A security considerations? What are you trying, exactly, to access at the church? What kinds of firewall and/or router do they have? Some ideas: 1. Virtual PC running a VPN client would allow you pretty good access to the LAN resources, if they can set up a VPN server. It's not that hard. 2. VNC can do a lot of remoting with very little setup, and it's free, but you basically have to devote a machine at the server end to serve the session; the home computer becomes a thin client. And you have to be able to get to the client machine, which frequently involves either exposing a client machine on the net (not really recommended) or you're back to the VPN thing. 3. If they have a firewall, and they want you to run some kind of software local to the church, you might find the GotoMyPC software (www.gotomypc.com) stable and useful. It handles firewalls very well. I've used it to remote into computers all over the country for maintenance purposes. I don't know if they have a Mac client, so you might be back to VPC for this. Hope this helps a little... -greg ----- Original Message ----- From: "V.
