Thanks, I'll take a look. I know they have some articles on this. My
goal however is to still keep everything in the original case.

I can do that too, although it fine before I futzed with it.

Yeah, I can disconnect everything non essential and see what an external
CDROM does. But I still suspect either dead PS or mobo.

I borrowed another 266DT and will do my best not to kill it before using
various parts of it to diagnose the other.
