Which is the personality card for G3 MT model with S-video in and out? Is it

Success? Failure?

No more questions I promise. ;-)

Off-list responses welcome.

You may be talking about the DVD personality card, though maybe the previous
edition (there were 3 a/v boards) had svideo too. The DVD version, which has
onboard hardware fordvd decoding (not needed these days) won't work for video in
unless you have a rev 3 motherboard (might work with rev 2, but I don't think
so.)

If all you want is low res video in, get the basic a/v personality card. You
don't need s-video for the quality any of the a/v personality cards are capable
of, plain single wire RCA video is fine.

But there are other and much better ways to digitize video, including
inexpensive usb video encoders (a usb pci card to work with one is very
inexpensive and has lots of other good uses.)

If you spend more you can get a lot more (Firewire and DV), but for what you'd
pay for an old personality card you can get more modern stuff that would work at
least as well.
