Dear Forum: I have a Laserwriter 300 which I would love to use in OS X. I know that officially printers such as mine are not supported in OS X. LocalTalk printers ,such as the Laserwriter 320, are supported when using a LocalTalk-to-Ethernet adapter.
It was also my impression that serial printers of any kind could not function in OS X. This impression was blown out of the water, however, when I saw that the Imagewriter (which uses QuickDraw like the Laserwriter 300) will work in OS X via a Keyspan Twin Serial adapter. If you go to http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/imagewriter/ , this page contains the necessary software to accomplish this task. This begs the question then that if the Imagewriter can be made to function in an OS X environment surely the Laserwriter 300 could also be made to work. Any feedback would be sincerely appreciated.
