Re: G3 vs PB 12"

I also have the same PowerBook. I had some smilier problems when I 
first used my 12" PowerBook. I did a clean install of the OS, and that 
seemed to clean a lot of things up. You should also know the 12" PB 
lacks an L3 cache. Sometimes when I am doing multi-media stuff, it 
takes a performance penalty. But if your experiencing slow downs with 
Safari, Mail, Office Apps, etc, then I would recommend you do a nuke 
and pave, and start with a Clean OS.

I have the same computer (12"PB with 640MB ram).  I don't have any 
comparisons to a beige G3/300, but I can tell you, it takes 2-5 
minutes to start up and is, in some cases, slower than my PowerMac 
G4/400 AGP.

I can't think of any reason why it is so slow sometimes.

Can anyone help us?
