The HP6L is a PCL5 printer. So (PCL, not PostScript) drivers for HP4 or 5 should be compatible. They have a paper tray, unlike the vertical feed 5L and 6L which as you said are to be avoided. I had a 4ML for several years, still working at over 30K pagecount when I left that job -- that was the cheapest PostScript laser at the time. It has both parallel and Mac printer ports. (The 4L is just parallel and PCL, mechanically identical otherwise.) Might have a jam every 100 pages or so, but just open and yank it out and continue. Don't try to reuse paper, it's finicky.
