I have a 366 clamshell iBook with 10.2.6. Somehow it has developed a problem with the activation of the screen. When the top is closed, the screen turns on for 2 seconds out of every 7 seconds, so that it cycles 2 on, 5 off, 2 on, 5 off. If I open the top, the screen doesn't turn on (I believe it used to?) but remains black until a key is touched like awaking from normal sleep. I've looked at the processes running and can't identify anything. I booted off a Firewire drive that had a relatively pristine 10.2.6 system, and the cycle was there also, so it appears it's either something in the OS, or in the iBook firmware, and not related to any third party software. I also zapped the PRAM x 5 just for certainty, but nothing changed. In 10.2.4 & 10.2.5 there seemed to be a real problem with the battery running low very quickly. I thought that 10.2.6 fixed that, but perhaps caused this screen problem. It gets fairly hot when closed, and I've read that the heat buildup can damage the LCD, so I'm eager for a solution. If any of you also have clamshell's using 10.2.6 let me know if you have this problem also. Thanks! Kris Tilford
