Yes they will do DVD -RW however Apple has chosen to only push the DVD 
-R aspect of the drives since the release of the first SuperDrive [all 
of them do DVD -RW]. This is most likely because of availability and 
price of DVD -RW media.

There  is no spec listed for DVR -RW at 2X
