The cheap way to go is to get a combo drive that has DVD rom and cdrw
capability. Check out the compatability database at xlr8yourmac.com before
you buy. I did not need ultimate cd burning speeds so I picked up a Toshiba
combo drive that is a 8x8x32 CDRW and plays DVDs at 8x. These are reffered
to as DVD/CDRW 8x8x8x32 drives. I got mine off ebay for about $40.

New, faster drives tend to go for 80-100, or you can get the Pioneer A04
for around 120-140 that will burn DVDs at 1x or the A05 that burs at 2x,
IIRC, for around 160. The A06 burns even faster and will work with both
DVD-rw and DVD+rw media, the others only work with one type, I forget which.
