Specifically speed? I don't see how, but RAM - could that be your trouble? Generally, yes - it always could be your RAM. Each "fabricator" builds subtle variations, unintentionally. OS X is finicky. this is one reason that better RAM vendors offer (up to) lifetime guarantees, even allowing you to swap if your module doesn't perform (or if you may suspect) it isn't working. Maddening, no?
