The "free" cards are stated to be PC-only. Same with any of the UATA/133 drives which are larger than 120 GB and come with a free card. You need a card which is Mac compatible, or is FLASHable to be Mac compatible. The "free" cards I've seen have all been Promise-made cards, and these are intentionally made so they cannot be FLASHed to Mac.
