When I used AOL OS X it connected directly since it was running in OS X.

Maybe same here, too bad there is really no direct network support in 
Classic, I had that even in Virtual PC with Win98.

Really?!  No wonder I don't seem to get any people spaking good 
understandable english when I call, and AOL is not the only company I've experienced 
this 
with.  This is upsetting.

:(  I installed AOL OS X straight from the CD, for the looks of this I don't 
think I'll fix the problem anytime soon.  Right now I am in OS 9.x (restarted 
with OS 9.2), and everything seems to be going smoothly.  I didn't know I had 
to be tech to use OS X!  Even logical stuff doesn't seem to work.  I will go 
back tonight when I can and try again.
