If you connected using your modem through a different piece of software, then your computer/modem is fine. No offense to the AOL users out there, but I hate AOL and it sucks! Usually when attempting to use AOL in classic mode it can't find the modem. I'm not sure what's happening to you in the OS X version. Give AOL tech support a call (and hope you don't get some guy in India who's reading off a script, yes, that happens) and see if it's a simple setting somewhere. If that is not the case you will probably need to update the AOL for OS X software. Boot the machine into OS 9 and connect to AOL that way. Download the file in OS 9. Boot into X and install it. If that doesn't work, set up a new location in your Network System Prefs.

Hello

I am using my old AOL Classic software instead of AOL for OS X. For some
reason with OS X AOL my messages to the list keep bouncing, telling me that
probably my message had some content not accepted in the list, then I sent them
with this AOL for Classic and they go with no problem. Another thing is that AOL
OS X tells me my modem doesn't want to accept its commands (after it dials
and everything right when its supposed to finish connecting, I did selected the
right modem), however I connected though Internet Connect TCP/IP with no
problem (with MacOL). What is wrong with AOL OS X or it is my computer?

Also I can't seem to get Netscape 7 to use my old mailboxes from OS 9.x,
everytime I start it up it wants to make a new account how do I do that? Can I
select it somewhere within the application?
