Hi Travis. I would sync the iBook with what's on the iPod, then erase the iPod and use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy your iBook drive to the iPod. Once you installed your new drive, boot from the iPod, format (erase) your new disk, and use CCC to copy everything from the iPod to the new drive. Once you're finished with all this, sync the iPod with iTunes on your new disk and everything should be back the way it was without having to reinstall OS X or any other software. Also, this is much less confusing than trying to remember where everything goes, if that's even possible (it's not for me!). If this is not clear, email me off line and I'll explain further.
