A G3 B&W 450 MHz rev. 1 logic board, 6 GB original HD, 256 MB RAM behaves
really odd. It had its logic board replaced for another problem last month,
now often freezes at startup. Just recently it slowed down and the system
was shown to be using 209 MB, odd. Diags, DiskWarrior and the dreaded Norton
gave the disk and system a clean bill of health. I replaced the system to
isolate it, and found I couldn't boot from a 9.2.1 CD. I tried another
original, then a known good working copy, no change. A 9.1 CD would boot. I
then installed 9.1 and updated in 2 goes to 9.2.2. During all this I pulled
an Adaptec 2906 and a gigabit ethernet card, it made no difference. The
firmware was also up to date. I'm wondering if I have a duff Apple exchange
logic board, or could there be a processor problem?
