Do you have another device to test the card with; even a mouse? You may 
want to make sure the Espon's drivers are up to date by visiting 
www.epson.com. I have a 740 as well. If I load the drivers from the 
disk they load for serial. There are drivers on the web for USB. 
Download and install those.
