If only I'd stayed in Arizona! The "university" price for Jaguar here in West Texas was $99. Maybe there are different license packages universities can buy (or different levels of markup). The university here is notoriously bad at Mac and Apple support so the price difference could be any number of things.

Office X is currently advertised on Yahoo for the teacher/student edition for $149 US. Some universities however have licenses w/MS to sell it cheaper (I get it for about $5-$10 US and have since Word 6). Jaguar, on the other hand, cost $99US. Don't know what Panther will be but I don't want to think about it since it looks like it's not going to work on the beige.

Academic price on OS X is $69.

I've no doubt that 10.3 is going to sell for the same $129 retail. Apple's actually been pretty consistent on OS pricing for quite a while.
